The position at a glance
USD C&P PCS domain is looking to fill a ‘Data Governance Specialist’ position within its Data Governance and Model Management function. The position will have the responsibility of performing data scrutiny including but not limited to data quality, data lineage, data integrity, and supporting sound data analytics. This role requires focus on using data to identify and predict trends, highlight anomalies and risks in the process, collaborate with internal and external teams to execute and support of projects.
Makes well-thought-out decisions on complex data issues and establishes the control data points and infrastructure to manage the effectiveness and efficiency of the data in use in the domain. Effectively communicates to individuals at various levels of the technical and business communities
In detail
- Coordinate the resolution of data integrity, quality, and accuracy gaps by working with the Business Owners, Data Owners, Data Custodians and Enterprise Data Management.
- liaise with internal and external team on projects around data and/or model management
- Coordinate with Model Manager on model validation engagements, including planning model validation and remediation of findings if any.
- Work with model users to ensure adequate testing and documentation of performance monitoring including the creation of reporting for the monthly and quarterly model performance KPIs.
- Monitor the outputs of the various models for consistency in decisions and review inconsistent decisions to determine root cause
- Creation and establishment of monitoring and performance metric for the USD C&P domain
- Assist the Data Governance group within USD C&P PCS in the formation and execution of the data governance framework, policy, standards, and procedures
- Participate in the analysis and use of data within the USD C&P PCS domain.
- Document control structures for the data in use and report regularly to management and risk on outcome of analysis.

Responsibilities:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
- 2 to 4 years of experience in banking with a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information technology, Banking and Finance Business administration or a field with experience in systems administration, analysis, and reporting.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Intermediate Level) and Microsoft PowerPoint (Intermediate Level)
- Preferable prior work experience in Computer Science, Information technology or related field.
- Results-oriented, diligent, and work with a sense of urgency. Assertive, independently responsible for deliverables and commit to deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Data analysis mindset in order to work with large datasets and quickly analyze data to create insights into data.
- Good time management skills with a focus on attention to detail.
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Good documentation skills, such as drafting of procedures, meeting minutes and presentations.
- Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of the English is required.
