The position at a glance
BNP Paribas HR Analytics & Insights team delivers decision-supporting dashboards and headcount reports to HR Management, HR Subject Matters Experts (SMEs) and Business leads. As part of the 2025-2027 roadmap, BNP Paribas HR is set to improve both its efficiency and effectiveness while significantly enhancing its service offer. The team will offer sophisticated visualizations and People Analytics, featuring workforce metrics, analytics, trends analysis and recommendations to further support the Business in its decisions and strengthen our employee value proposition.
To deliver upon the ambition, the team is looking for a skilled proactive professional, passionate about HR People Analytics, with proven experience in data investigation, data maintenance, providing support to our stakeholder for their data and reporting needs, a strong knowledge of data storytelling with the ability to design, sustain, maintain and support dashboards and report.
The candidate will also perform business analysis and deliver PeopleSoft reporting, using queries. As HR data is fundamental to the success of our business, the the candidate will also provide data configuration and data maintenance support.
This is a key position requiring both technical knowledge and business acumen and is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal relationship skills are required, as the candidate will interact with senior leaders in HR and business leads to shape data-driven solutions. This position will provide stimulating opportunities for motivated individuals to contribute to the success of the strategic HR roadmap.
The job position is based in Montreal and is part of a US/Canada team.

In detail
The scope of work covers below main activities
- HR Analytics and Reporting
- Build and maintain strong connections with HR leadership and SMEs to understand their strategic goals and business imperatives with respect to workforce analysis and planning, thus delivering reporting which bring maximum value.
- Maintain standardized PeopleAnalytics dashboards, metrics, KPIs and reports using Power BI and PeopleSoft queries.
- Support the day-to-day HR Analytic needs for our stakeholders, including HR data configuration management.
- Provide summary level and detailed reports incrementally and on an ad-hoc basis; examples include overtime reports, time-off management, headcount reports, payroll reports
- Identify and use multiple data sources, analyze and present results – interpret data and derives significant patterns or points of attention, provide recommendations and insight based on key trends and knowledge of business challenges.
- Produce analysis and sharp visualizations through business analytics and intelligence technologies such as PowerBI to help make informed decisions.
- Help team enhance scope of Data Science activities: e.g. Developing Forecasting, Multi-Variate models, Regression/Correlation analysis, Machine learning, AI, etc.
- Co-create solutions with our Enterprise Data Management team to ensure scalable solutions are delivered
- Train and coach HR teams on how to interpret data and metrics and make the best use of the reports and dashboards
- Demonstrate a continuous learning curve and open mind-set to bring in innovative ideas.
- Project management
- Autonomously design, plan and drive successful delivery of projects using strong project management skills
- Comprehensive assessment of business needs to build a precise understanding of requirements and translate into functional specifications
- Project contribution at all stages of development
- Keep track of the pipeline confirmed priorities, ensure features are developed, reviewed, thoroughly tested, and implemented as per user requirements.
- Database Management/HR Workflow
- Maintain data integrity, create and utilize reports and data queries to authenticate integrity of employee information, resolves differences between Finance and Human Resources systems, and assist with reconciling data between PeopleSoft and other internal compensation systems, including Payroll
- Participate in auditing and maintenance of employee records, including HR status updates, terminations, and new hires
- Additional missions may include
- Participate in alternative systems research and RFPs
- Support and assist new product implementation both within Human Resources and outside the department.
The strengths and skills that will help you succeed
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Analytics, People Analytics, Information Technology, Data Science, Finance or similar field
- 5-8 years of experience in People Analytics, Data Analytics, business intelligence, or similar roles, including HRIS.
- Strong applied mathematical, statistical, and analytical skills to design and interpret descriptive and predictive statistics
- Experience in data mining, text analytics, data collection strategies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to convey ideas and effective story-telling through data, reports and dashboards.
- Client-focused, ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with the respective HR and Business stakeholders;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with HRIS Systems (Peoplesoft, WorkDay, Oracle HCM is an asset but not mandatory as training can be provided)
- Outstanding operational and organizational skills in addition to detailed oriented work
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Self-starter, proactive in seeking information and approaching business problems with creativity
- Able to work well independently and in a team environment
- Experience working in a large, complex organization is an advantage
- Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of the English and French is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient with PowerBi.
- Strong knowledge of MS applications, including be proficient in Excel
- Coding knowledge and experience in several languages: for example, R, Python, Java, MS Excel/VBA, , etc.
- Experience with database programming languages including SQL
- Knowledge of Business Objects
- Experience in one or more of the ETL platforms such as KNIME, Alteryx
- Experience with data sources and reporting tools; PeopleSoft Queries
